Blog – Penguins of the Week: Club Penguin Community

The final Penguin of the Week on classic Club Penguin has arrived today. And the Penguins of the Week are us, nominated by the Club Penguin Team! Here’s the post:

Hi, penguins!

The entire Club Penguin community has been nominated to be Penguins of the Week by, the Club Penguin Team!

Here are a few of our nominations:

“I’d love for everyone (the whole community!) to be PotW! Every penguin has been so kind and inviting to the island for new penguins and to me. The best part of my day is logging on and meeting penguin pals, chatting in the coffee shop, and just staying creative. It’s their love for this island that has kept it afloat for so long. Thanks for being so warm on a cold island – the party definitely starts when the community waddles in. Don’t forget to be awesome and stay creative!” -Amykim

“I would like the nominate the entire Club Penguin community for Penguin of the Week! This community of passionate, creative, and adventurous penguins has really impacted me in the most positive way. From the selflessness and compassion, to the silly and funny sense of humor that you bring to the Island, you really make Club Penguin the awesome place that it is. Thank you for all of your positive energy and good vibes. I can’t wait to see what kind of amazing things we all do next! Waddle on!”  -Chaddington

“I nominate ALL THE PENGUINS! This is a huge week for the Club Penguin community, so they ALL deserve to be recognized. Thanks for all the awesome things they do for each other and for the team!” — Bodoni

“The Club Penguin community has been open and accepting to penguins from all over the world, exemplifying a tremendous amount of generosity and kind heartedness. It has been an honor getting to know so many of them, and I look forward to even more great memories. *Salutes*” -Sgt Sparkles

“For the last classic CP POTW, I’d really love to nominate ALL THE PENGUINS. The things you do together are amazing! I’ve seen you care for each other when times are tough, help each other when there’s a problem to solve, cheer for each other when there’s a game to play, dance like Christmas trees when there’s….Christmas tree dancing to do(?) Together you ARE CP, and that deserves a million nominations!” -Boltzor

“I’d like to nominate the WHOLE CP COMMUNITY to be PoTW, it’s because of your support, dedication, and passion for the game that’s kept it going for the past 11 years, and allowed us to continue on into Club Penguin Island. There is never a time when I’ve gone online and not had the best time ever, so thanks to each and every one of you for making my job so incredible.” -Megg

“I would like to nominate the entire community of Club Penguin because they are the best and they ae always there for one another. ¡We have had a blast entertaining you for so long! Throughout all our adventures in Club Penguin, it has made me really happy to see all the creativity that our feathered friends have by creating amazing igloos and by reading all the wonderful suggestions you send us. ¡You guys are the best! I have enjoyed very much all the games we have played, and although I have lost almost all the sleight races… ¡It was so much fun! You guys are truly wonderful and I think that every single one of you deserves to be penguin of the week!” -Polar Play

Congrats, penguins! While we may not be able to grant you all the PoTW background, we’re sending all the virtual high-fives we have to each and every one of you!

Thanks for being the best community our team could have ever hoped for. We look forward to many more Penguins of the Week in CPI. :)

Waddle on!

-Club Penguin Team

Great way to wrap things up.

Blog – Waddle Down Memory Lane Part 2

Part two of the Waddle Down Memory Lane videos arrived yesterday. Here is the post and the video:

Hi penguins,

There’s no way the team could express their favorite Club Penguin moments in one single Waddle-Down-Memory-Lane video. So here’s part 2! And not only will you hear some of the team’s best memories, but you’ll hear what they’re excited about for Club Penguin Island.

Missed part 1 of Waddle Down Memory Lane? Find it HERE.

Club Penguin’s Last Week Notice and Fireworks

Club Penguin updated for the final time today. When you log in, all the characters will greet you for being apart of the game and being part of this great community.

Also, fireworks (with sound effects!) have been added in the Town, Snow Forts, and Plaza to celebrate the last hurrah. The grand finale in the Town matches up with the room music nicely.

Here’s a few notices from myself:

  • I am not planning on posting about Club Penguin Island, however I will most likely try it out and maybe post a few things about the game here and there. It definetely won’t be consistant or on a daily basis. The posts will remain for memories.
  • I will be posting every blog post Club Penguin makes during this final week of Club Penguin.

So, that’s it! I will be logging on next Wednesday for the final day with free membership for everyone!

Club Penguin Times Issue #566 (Final Issue)

It’s been SEVEN weeks without a new newspaper, or any single update on the game for that matter. The final updates of Club Penguin happened today, with a new issue of the beloved Club Penguin Times.

You’ll see it says “New!” so click on it like always.

And I’ll get comfy on the Coffee Shop couch one last time, the same way I always have since 2007.

The first article is a message from Aunt Arctic, saying goodbye. This image was in the last issue, and led me to believe the final issue would have went back to the original format. That would have been a nice touch.

The second article is famous penguins saying their goodbyes, too.

And here are the upcoming events…oh wait. :(

Wednesday, March 29

  • Club Penguin closes

This week, there are two Ask Aunt Arctic articles, which hasn’t happened in a long time. In recent years the second one was replaced by a comic, and later Fan Art.

In the first article, Aunt Arctic officially reveals the Elite Penguin Force. But I’m pretty sure almost everyone knows about it by now.

The second article discusses the new Club Penguin Island.

And for the last time, here’s the News Flash:

And Club Penguin Island Rumors by a Rumor Reporter as an island secret.

Newspaper submissions are also closed.

I would like to end this post by showing the front page of the first issue of the The Penguin Times, as they were known at the time, from 566 issues ago. Club Penguin has come a long way since October 24, 2005, almost 11 and a half years ago.

Thank you Club Penguin for giving us informative stories all these years. From all those colorful illustrations you’d only see in the newspaper, to the puzzles, in depth articles, secrets, fan submissions, In Focus, Ask Aunt Arctic, interactions, you name it – thank you.

Club Penguin Picture Archive: Puffle Party 2011

Hello everyone!

As you all know, Club Penguin is closing on March 29th. This has inspired me to show you some old screenshots I took of Club Penguin events. I dug around my old media archives and found some interesting photos. I have the entire Puffle Party 2011 taken by me. It can be viewed on this page. This doesn’t seem that long ago, but in reality it was over six years ago believe it or not.

Club Penguin has changed so much since then. But, enjoy the photos, and be sure to check back soon while I dig for more photos.

Club Penguin Update

No updates are going on on Club Penguin right now. At this time it is unknown if March will feature new catalogs. But, just to let you know, I am not gone, there is just nothing to post about! :P
